Irene Yen

PhD, MPH, Associate Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology and Biostatistics Division of General Internal Medicine

Dr. Yen is a social epidemiologist with research expertise in survey design and development and qualitative research methods. Her research focuses on the social determinants of health, with emphasis on how neighborhood environment influences health behaviors and health status. She has recently completed projects study how city planning policies and neighborhood environmental characteristics influence the diet and physical activity behaviors of girls. For CHARM, she is a member of the training core and is developing two courses for a disparities research track within the UCSF Training in Clinic Research program.

Dr. Irene Yen is a member of the CHARM Training Core.
